First, a very important announcement: Joe and Bess Orenzow of Orenzow Productions are starting up a new very high quality organization called the Georgia Professional Videographers Association. The organization is inspired by WEVA International, the Wedding & Event Videographer’s Association. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12^th at The Centre at Arbor Connection on Douglas Boulevard. Second, Art on Disk Webmasters (of which my wife Norma and I are the principals) will be hosting a tradeshow booth (C-7) at this Saturday’s Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Business-to-Community Expo at Arbor Place Mall between 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. If you are in the area, please stop by and say hi!

We are sharing our booth to help promote both the members of the Digital Image Group and the Sweetwater Camera Club and attract more creative people. Also appearing for the first time ever will be DIG Diplomats to the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, Angelo Muhammad and Frank Karycinski. Angelo will also be representing his company A-1 Video Production & Photography; Frank will also be representing his company, Your Photo Restoration.

Also, Angelo Muhammad’s “Gems and Jewels of Douglasville” video starring local historian Earl Albertson is quite inspiring. This video was shown last week at the Sweetwater Camera Club in our efforts to announce the creation of the “SCC Historical Image Preservation Committee” which will be instrumental in partnering with Tim Collins and the folks at Chapel Hill News & Views to publish a new quarterly magazine full of Douglasville and Douglas County historical images and stories. We will also be posting the images on-line at DouglasPix.com as the project progresses.
