This Saturday is the Hydrangea Festival here in Douglasville from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. It just so happens that we have a Digital Image Group booth in a PRIME location near the stage inside O’Neal Plaza next to City Hall. The attached map shows that we are booth number 3, on the “grassy knoll” to the right side of the stage. If you would like to display some of your images and perhaps sell some of them, please come to the booth as we set it up between 7:30 and 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. You don’t have to “man the booth” to display and/or sell some of your work. You may also bring work later in the day if you can’t make yourself get up that early on a Saturday. We do need some assistance in holding down the fort if any of you have some time on Saturday and would like to hang out and give people in the crowd some of the business cards and flyers that explain who the Digital Image Group is. We will also have cards explaining who the Sweetwater Camera Club is . . . Gene Spicer, who is helping watch over both his own booth and DIG says he could use some help. Norma Nichols will be at the booth throughout the day. Please let me know if you want to bring photos or need to deliver them to either Gene Spicer at Cartridge World Lithia Springs or to my home in Arbor Station in advance. If you have videos (such as DVDs) to sell, you can bring those as well, although I’m don’t think we will have electricity available to show any previews. You should place your name, phone number and pricing information on the back of your work. It can be in clear bags unmatted or matted. Last year we sold a few pictures for around $30 for 8x10s and $50 for llx14s (but your mileage may vary). Of course, if you have a frame on your picture you will want to include that in your price. The Hydrangea Festival is here to stay. This is the second year, and it is basically a “fine arts” oriented exhibition. Flower pictures, landscape, nature photos etc. are encouraged. As the summer rolls along we will be exhibiting in several of these events to familiarize the public in this area with our groups. If you get your work ready for one of these festivals, it will be ready for other events unless of course, you sell all your stuff. Thanks for your support, and if you have any questions, please reply to my email or call me at 404-210-5985. Please leave a message if you don’t get an immediate answer. Hope you can make it over for the festival, or at least participate in some way. As members of the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, part of DIG’s mission is to find and promote the talents of visual artists/photographers/videographers/multimedia mavens in this area. Welcome to SUMMER! Richard |
